A very very cool house in the fanciest part of the city. A 2,260 sqft house in a 10,765 sqft plot of land. Price is a mild $800,000.
The Frank Lloyd Wright - or Mies/Neutra, you are correct in this one - influence is strong with this one.
Too many colors.
Yeah, I would paint this entire room white.
I do like the feeling of openness.
This is the atelier/office/workshop part of the house, they are joined by this path.
I like this. I really like this.

I feel like this architectural style only works in Latin America and/or the 80's
Certainly very attractive!

$800,000
‘Mild’

For some Latin American cities, that is mild (look at the towers in the background, land there cannot be cheap!) I often see houses and even apartments pushing closer to five or six million dollars!

Yep, it is very Mid Century Latin Modern.

This is the only reason I watch hose hunters international.

I like the first house more, if everything was painted white.

I feel like a Boom Latinoamerican writer must’ve been in that building at some point in it’s history.

There are rich folks outside of MURRICA too ya know.

Damn. I always thought a dollar went further in South America. Come to Arizona and you can get a much bigger lot with a much bigger house for $800k and you won’t be surrounded by apartment buildings. You won’t have to worry about getting robbed by a ten year-old on a dirt bike, although your kids may get shot by one while at school.
You can buy real Frank Lloyd Wright houses here too, but they’ll run you a few million. This house is down the street from me:

God this is so wonderful. $800,000 where I am gets you a terribly built cookie cutter house using “contractor special” materials that will be falling apart within three years. Oh and you’re about 6 feet from your neighbors on either side.
Trade ya?

It would also work in SoCal and some other parts of the southwest. Much of the area down there is suitable for this very outdoor-integrated compound style.

Mmm.
Maybe I have an extra $800k in my couch cousins

I see a lot of that in AZ, but it is usually reserved for libraries and community colleges. Doesn’t look like the FLW buildings I’ve been in here.

Far more Corbu/Mies/Neutra than Wright IMO.

nice looking pace
bargain too!

I don’t like all the colors either but the overall style is cool and the price seems really good for the building, land and area.

That is beautiful. Though the owners have very strange tastes in wall decor.

NP, that is really cool.

Yeah, that room with the blue could be toned down a notch.
NP, it would be 3x as much in my postal code.

I don’t see a FLW, more like a Le Corbusier. I see the banded windows, the slim supporting columns and I am seeing more Villa Savoye than falling water. I also see Case Study houses like Neutra’s. I would certainly not mind it if it exist in South Florida, but retrofitting it for air conditioning would not be easy. Love the colors and the wood panel ceilings.

It really depends, in São Paulo and Rio the costs are almost on par with NYC or other major American cities.
I guess the price is like that because it is close to apartment buildings, living both in a house and close to all the major shops and restaurants has its price.

You are right, the ad specifically mentioned FLW influences in the design of the house (Artigas was the architect, he has some other cool buildings) so that is what I mentioned.

Where are you located? I might trade if only for cheaper car prices.

I would just paint everything but the wood paneling white.
